Dapgyo

This project renovates a disused building of historical significance located in downtown Seoul. The building, once used as a hospital, is reimagined as a space where music becomes a medium for mental healing. The design draws from Dapgyo, an old Korean communal custom in which neighbors gathered to enjoy music as a way to ward off illness and misfortune. This cultural reference informs both the spatial programming and the architectural motif.
